The Dirty Spruce rides really only have 1 rule to count yourself as completed, ride the route as described. If you must detour to get water, get back on the route in the same spot and continue to ride. You’re welcome to do the routes any day you want, but to join some others there are official start dates and times.
Standings: If you want to be listed in the official standings for fastest times then do the route solo/self-supported and as one stage, so the clock never stops running. Solo means no-drafting, but if you end up riding with someone for a bit that’s not a problem. To be listed in the standings you can’t take support that’s not available to others, so organizing your partner to drop stuff off is a no-go. You’re free to resupply at any publicly available place.
To have your standing listed send the ride to curtis@curtismchale.ca and make sure it includes the full GPS track. GPS tagged photos at key junctures with you visible and the river/bridge/city obvious is nice to verify rides but not required.
